Favorite Wisconsin Sports Blogs

Millions of people have blogs. No really, tens of millions of blogposts are updated every day. How much can one person read about, care about, or even find. You know that I'm all about Wisconsin Badgers sports, but I do reach out to other teams in my home state. So without further delay, I bring you my list of blogs that I try to keep up with here in Wisconsin Sports land.

If it's a Milwaukee Brewers update I crave, I look no further than this Miller Park blogger. I get the feeling that this Milwaukee native really cares about the state of Brewers baseball. If I can't get to that site, I head on over to another Milwaukee Brewers fan site. That pair keeps me in Brewers heaven.

For Wisconsin Badgers Football information, I have big respect for The guys over at this Camp Randall blog. It's all about the short and sweet updates on every Wisconsin Badgers football game, week in and week out.

If I'm looking for a true Green Bay Packers fan site, I love the updates from this Packers blogger. The Kohl Center is not nearly as storied as Lambeau Field, but someday, I hope to get the same amount of respect from this Lambeau Field blog writer.

Wisconsin Badgers Hockey Team Looks to Bounce Back

The Wisconsin Badgers Hockey team hopes to make a comeback win. Last Saturday Wisconsin badger hockey fans left in a somber mood. After a three game winning streak they lost 5-2 against Minnesota at the Kohl Center. The game was almost an exact opposite of their first game of the series against Minnesota where they won 4-2. The Badgers record is now 4-3-1. Their next game is against Alaska Anchorage Friday 13th at 7pm at the Kohl center. I’m hoping the Badgers can beat Alaska and begin another winning streak!
The Wisconsin Badger’s women’s Basket ball team got off to an astonishing start at their exhibition game crushing UW Oshkosh 106-39. This is an amazing accomplishment for the women seeing how it was their first game where they scored over 100 points since their game against Santa Clara in 2004 ending in a 104 point win. Tara Steinbauer, a junior forward, lead the team in scoring 25 points, and Rae Lin D’ALie close behind scoring a total of 19 points for the team. The women are currently 2-0 for their regular season games and I’m eager to see if the Badgers winning streak will continue into their next game this Sunday against IPFW at 5pm. Best of luck at the kohl center this season ladies.

Kohl Center Seating Chart

The Wisconsin Badgers Kohl Center Seating chart gives you the lowdown on all the best sections. Where is the Badgers student section? Will there be an obstruction? Which side of the Kohl Center do the players sit on? As we get closer to the Badgers Basketball season, those questions come up pretty often.

Kohl Center student sections are 314 through 316, 214 through 216, and 113 through 117. These student sections are all on the Regent street side of the Kohl Center. The Badgers players line up on the side opposite the media. All player benches are between 121, 122, and 123.

There are no obstructions in the Kohl Center. It was built for Basketball. That's for sure.

Wisconsin Badger Bash Features Badgers Basketball Team

In a cross-promotional effort worthy of mention, the Wisconsin Men's Basketball team will attend the Badger Bash this Saturday. What is the Badger Bash you say? It's a gathering of all types who support the Badgers athletes.

One can grab an autograph, a cold drink, or some quality food prior to the Badger football game. On top of that, the Wisconsin Badgers marching band will be there. If you want to get an autograph, you need to be there between the hours of 9:30 and 10:30am.

On a sad note, the Wisconsin Badgers said goodbye to Taylor and Jeremy Glover. They were arrested in early September and charged with Burglary. Taylor dropped out of school, and Jeremy was also dismissed from the team. Both brothers were freshman. One was a walk on player, and the other had scholarship opportunities that are now void. Wisconsin Badgers basketball tickets have yet to be released, but this setback may have an effect on attendance.

Kohl Center, Badgers Basketball Home Court Turns 11, and still Rocks

Named after the Senator Herb Kohl, the Kohl Center turned 11 years old. Depending on the time of year, this venue plays host to college basketball, hockey, concerts, or conventions. The place is known for spacious walkways, and superior athletic facilities. The merchandise booths are easy to find, as are the concession stands.

There are no obstructions in the Kohl Center, and that is key to an enlightening experience. When the student facilities were designed, computer access and study areas were taken into consideration. The Kohl center capacity depends on the event. For concerts, the venue handles over 16,000 fans. For an event like a Wisconsin hockey game, the capacity is 14,000.

Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Schedule

The Wisconsin Badgers basketball schedule is out, and the team will face the mighty Bemidji State team on November 4th. That game is followed up with an exhibition game against UW-Superior on November 11th. I prefer to attend the Maui Invitational starting around Thanksgiving. It's also a great time head out of state since the Wisconsin Badgers football team will be on the road.

The first marquee game is against Duke at the Big Ten ACC Challenge, and another against Marquette 12/12/09. Wisconsin Badger basketball tickets will be flying out the door for that game, to be sure.
